Bring the LAV III

Monument to Morinville!

The LAV III Monument Program

The LAV III Monument Program recognizes the service of the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan by providing LAV IIIs (Light Armoured Vehicles) to qualifying communities throughout Canada. These specific vehicles will be constructed from pieces of retired LAV IIIs, declared surplus through the Department of National Defence’s (DND) recent LAV III upgrade program. Even though from the outside, the vehicle may look as if it’s ready to fight, it will be delivered in a non-functional state. Constructing the programs LAV IIIs will be completed together by volunteers and students.

About The Morinville Lav Project

What is the LAV III Project?

The purpose of the LAV III Monument Project is to give the local communities a memorial to honour the sacrifices that members of the Canadian Armed Forces have made while protecting and defending Canada.

How do I sponsor the LAV III?

Click the “Donate” button at the top of the website, or contact morinvillelav@gmail.com for more information.

Where will the LAV III be located?

The LAV III Monument will be located on the Morinville Leisure Center grounds and will be visible from Highway 642. There will be future access to the site along walking trails within the Morinville Leisure Center grounds.
